DeMotte is located in NorthWest Indiana in Jasper County near the Historic Kankakee River.   Population is projected at 3,738 and is the fastest growing area in Jasper County.  Located only about five minutes from the Roselawn-DeMotte interchange of  I-65 and S.R. 10, DeMotte is only about 40 minutes from beautiful Lake Michigan and the Port of Indiana;  20 minutes from the Indiana-Illinois State Line; and 60 minutes from Chicago.    Major highways, including I-65,  S.R. 10 and U.S. 231 ( which is the main thoroughfare of  DeMotte) provide easy access to these surrounding areas.   The DeMotte Police Department has six full-time Officers; Seven Auxiliary Officers;  Four Full-time Communications Officers and two part-time Communications Officers.   The DeMotte Police Department provides the citizens of DeMotte with 24 hour police protection supplementing patrol with Auxiliary officers.
